  The Giant Waterpark Inside an old German Airship Hangar Located about 60 kms south of Berlin there’s a former Soviet airfield and you will find an airship hanger known as Aerium, The Hanger was originally designed to protect large airships from the elements, that has been re-purposed into a place of fun and frolic Now it is a tropical theme park. In December 2004, the Tropical Islands resort opened. its massive hangar doors to the public. The idea was to create a self-contained holiday destination in the heart of Eurore, a resort with a holiday-like atmosphere opened 24/7 for guests worldwide. Tropical Islands has a world record for the largest indoor waterpark

The Tropical Sea, 140 meters (460 ft pool with an area of 4,400 square meters (47,000 sq ft) and a depth of 1.35 meters (4 ft 5 in), designed to look like the waters of a coral island and 200 meters (660 ft) sandy beach.


The Bali Lagoon, with an area of 1,200 square meters. (13,000 sq. ft) and a depth of less than 1 meter (3 ft 3 in) in places, with fountains, a current canal, whirlpools and two water slides.


It hosts world largest indoor rainforest, made up of over 50,000 plants, and 600 different species, including some rare plants.


The Amazonia, an outdoor area of over 35.000 square meters with two large pools, a sunbathing area, a beach volleyball and beach soccer field.


It also has a 200-metre-long sandy beach.


It has a 1.200-square-metre Lagoon with a constant temperature of 32″C, watersides and whirlpools

A 4,000 m2 children’s play area opened in 2007.


If you like to stay, it also has 191 rooms and lodges, 133 tents in the Rainforest and 10 two-bed Adventure and Premium Lodges.


the temperature is always 26°C (78.8 F) and it’s open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (except on Christmas Eve) perfect for the 600 different species of plants which can be found here, air humidity is around 64%.

Construction:


Originally an airship hanger known as Aerium Tropical Islands was built by the Malaysian corporation Taniang. They bought on 11 June 2003 permit for constructing the theme park inside the hall was granted on 2 February 2004 and Tropical Islands officially opened on 19

December 2004.



Getting there: 

  It can be reached by taking the A13 autobahn. It can also be reached taking a train to Brand Tropical Islands, followed by a free shuttle bus.
