Mock Village of Copehill 

   Copehill Down is known as Fake village or mock village. In first look it will look like a typical English Village, but on closer look you will Find something is quite wrong. No one lives there, Village is a UK Ministry of Defence training facility located on Salisbury Plain Village is FIBUA. an acronym standing for Fighting in Built Up Areas. built in 1988 to resemble a German village in Bavaria. 



   It was built by british army during the tail end of cold war to practice their urban warfare skills and close quarters fighting in an urban area. Access to the down is generally restricted. however the facility has been used for regular airsoft wargaming by certain British airsoft event organisers and Historical Reenactment societies Two more small but perfectly formed FIBUA sites can be found on the Kent/Sussex borders of the south coast.
